ECHL Announces Fine, Suspension

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Saturday announced that Kalamazoo's Ray Kaunisto has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as the result of his actions in ECHL Game #106, Reading at Kalamazoo, on Nov. 14.
Kaunisto is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline as the result of a high check to the head area of an opponent at 3:21 of the third period.
Kaunisto will miss Kalamazoo's game against Reading tonight (Nov. 15).
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
