TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (7-3-0-2) face the Utah Grizzlies (3-5-1-2) for the second time in back-to-back nights. The Reign will complete their three-game set at Maverik Center on Monday evening.
COUTURE CONTINUES SCORING CLIMB:
Reign captain Derek Couture continues to chug along. His third-period goal on Friday night gives him 15 points (8g-7a) on the season, good enough for a tie with Wheeling's Riley Brace (5g-10a) for a first-place tie for the league scoring race.
KING'S RANSOM:
Center Tristan King torrid scoring pace continues, as he carries an active point streak of seven games into tonight's matchup with two goals and six assists, while also maintaining a plus-minus of +10 over that span. In addition, King also has an active road point streak of six games heading into tonight's game, with one goal and five assists.
SPURGEON SENSATIONAL:
After his activation from injured reserve, Tyler Spurgeon returned to the Reign lineup, and continued where he left off in Alaska at the start of the season, picking up an assist on Derek Couture's goal on Friday in the third period, giving Spurgeon six points (1g-5a) in just four games on the season.
NET GAINS:
After yielding only two goals on Friday, Joe Cannata helped reduce Ontario's goals-against average to 1.97, which is tops among the entire ECHL. Both Cannata and Jussi Olkinuora are among the league leaders in save percentage as well, with Olkinuora coming in third (.935), and Cannata in sixth (.926).
