TONIGHT'S PROMOTION

Don't leave Fido at home...Bring your dog to the Stingrays game tonight at 7:05 p.m. as we host the Atlanta Gladiators. It's our annual Dog Days of Winter game, and fans are encouraged to bring their canine companion to the game! The evening will also feature fan-favorite Wiener Dog Races during the first intermission. Fans are encouraged to call 843-744-2248 for more information on this special event.

THE MATCHUP

The South Carolina Stingrays open a five game homestand this evening against the Atlanta Gladiators Tonight's game marks the eighth matchup between the two division rivals, with South Carolina coming into the game with a 4-3-0-0 record versus Atlanta. Both teams were in action last night, with South Carolina winning 4-0 at Greenville and Atlanta falling 4-1 at home to Florida. The Gladiators sit ten points behind the Stingrays in the South Division, while the Stingrays are just one point back of Florida who holds the top spot.

MAKE IT TWO

In last night's contest against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, Stingrays goaltender Vitek Vanecek earned his second professional shutout, stopping all 28 shots he faced in a 4-0 win. Vanecek stopped 13 shots in the period to earn his 13th victory of the season and move his win streak to six games. Vanecek ranks fifth in the league in goals-against average at 2.13, the same number as Mark Dekanich who sits in fourth place. Vanecek's goals-against average is the best among rookie netminders.

DEADLINE DEALS

The Stingrays added some new blood yesterday with the acquisition of defenseman Spencer Humphries from Evansville in exchange for defenseman Brendan Ellis. Humphries skated in 54 games with the IceMen this season, registering 16 points (two goals, 14 assists) to go along with 82 penalty minutes and an even plus/minus rating, all while serving as the alternate captain for the IceMen. The Gladiators also made a trade, moving defenseman Matt Register to Allen for forward Chris Auger who had been acquired by the Americans earlier in the day from Brampton. Auger had 18 goals with the Beast.

COMEBACK KIDS

One week ago, the South Carolina Stingrays earned a 4-2 win at Atlanta. It was the club's first win when trailing after the second period. South Carolina is now 1-13-1-1 when trailing after two periods.

YOU GUYS LOOK FAMILIAR

The Stingrays play 11 of their final 13 games against the South Division. Tonight is the first of six remaining contests versus Atlanta. The Gladiators currently sit 10 points behind the Stingrays in the South Division. South Carolina holds second place in the division, but currently trails Florida for the top spot in the South by just one point. After two games on home ice versus Atlanta this weekend, South Carolina hosts a pair of games versus Florida next weekend, and concludes a five-game homestand next Sunday versus Greenville.
