TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (35-17-4-5) play their second of three games in four nights against the Alaska Aces (29-24-3-4). Ontario has a 5-2-0-0 record against Alaska this season. Ontario is 29-27-5 all-time against Alaska since the two clubs began competition against each other in 2008-09. This week's series marks the final time that the Reign will face the Aces at Citizens Business Bank Arena in the ECHL.
HAT TRICKS COME IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES FOR KITSYN:
In his first game back for Ontario following a two-game call-up to the Manchester Monarchs, Maxim Kitsyn recorded a goal, assist and fight for his first career Gordie Howe hat trick. It has been a season of firsts for the former sixth-round pick of the LA Kings, as he also recorded his first North American pro hat trick earlier in the season on Feb. 7 at Colorado.
NONE HOTTER THAN NUNN:
Since his acquisition from the Gwinnett Gladiators, Garry Nunn has been impressive in four games for Ontario, averaging a goal and assist per game for eight total points.
SHOTS PILING UP:
Since returning home for their season-high seven-game home stand at Citizens Business Bank Arena, the Reign have averaged 30.50 shots for per game through the first four matches, while only surrendering 19 shots against per game.
OLKINUORA FOUR WINS AWAY FROM HISTORY:
With 33 career wins in a Reign uniform, Jussi Olkinuora's next four victories will give him sole possession of first place of the club's career wins record, currently held by Chris Carrozzi, who suited up with the Reign from 2011-13.
