Reading Royals News Release

ROYALS PRE-GAME NOTES

- This evening, the Royals and Beast face-off in the second of three consecutive games to be played between the two teams this week at Powerade Centre in Brampton, Ontario.

- Tonight's game is the fourth of what will be a total of five games played between the Beast and Reading this season. Brampton became the first team to ever beat the Royals in the organization's annual Pink in the Rink Game on Saturday, January 10, at Santander Arena (4-2); but Reading bounced back the next day to defeat Brampton (6-2).

- Last night, the Beast spoiled the Royals' first game in team history in Canada, jumping out to a 2-0 lead and, after the Royals had battled back to tie the game at two by the end of regulation, closing things out on an overtime game winner by Justin Donati thirty-four seconds into the extra frame.

- After the overtime loss last night to the Beast, the Royals record remains at a season-best twenty-three games over .500 (39-16-4-2=84), and the team remains in second place in the East Division four points behind the Florida Everblades, who have played one fewer game than the Royals.

- Reading has compiled a record of 2-2-2-0 in the team's last six games; 6-3-3-1 in the last thirteen; and 30-8-3-1 in the last forty-two.

- The Royals are now 0-4 in games that have been resolved in overtime. All four of those OTLs for Reading have come on the road.

- Kevin Walrod scored the Royals' first goal with 28.5 seconds left in the second period to draw Reading within one of the Beast (2-1) in last night's game. Walrod, who also scored in last Sunday's win over Kalamazoo (1g-1a), has three goals and five points in his last six games with Reading.

- Sean Wiles scored Reading's game-tying goal with 6:38 left in regulation last night. Wiles is riding a four game point streak (3g-2a=5pts). Wiles has scored a goal in three of his last four games and has scored six goals in his last eight played (6g-3a=9pts). Wiles has seventeen goals in the thirty-three games since January 1, 2015.

- Cam Reid assisted on both goals scored by Reading last night. He is riding a three-game point streak (1g- 3a=4pts). Last night's two-assist game was Reid's seventeenth multi-point performance of the season tonight, tying Pat Mullane for the team lead in that category. Reid has had at least one point in eleven of his last twelve games (7g-11a=18pts). Reid has thirty-two points (13g-19a) in his last twenty-three games.

- Adam Hughesman picked up the primary assist on Reading's first goal last night (by Kevin Walrod). Hughesman riding a three game assist streak. He has at least a point in nine of his last ten games (2g- 11a=13pts). Hughesman has thirty-two points (10g-22a) in his last twenty-nine games.
