South Carolina Stingrays News Release

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays look for their record 20th consecutive victory tonight as they host the Indy Fuel on "Southern Charm" Shep Rose Bobblehead Night and $5ForLife Night tonight at 7:05 at the North Charleston Coliseum. Tonight is the second of three meetings with the Fuel this season.

Shep Rose Bobblehead:

The first 1,000 fans to the Coliseum tonight receive a "Southern Charm" Shep Rose collectible bobblehead. Members of the hit Bravo TV series will be in attendance including Shep.

$5 For Life:

The Stingrays have teamed up with Service Master, local True Value hardware stores and local fire departments for $5ForLife Night. During the game and at every True Value Hardware store during the month of March and April, every $5 donation will go towards the purchase and installation of the first line of fire prevention, a smoke detector.

Series Breakdown:

The Stingrays and Fuel met for the first time in history back on January 17 with the Fuel prevailing 2-1 in the shootout at the Coliseum. At the time of their meeting, the Fuel held just 23 points through 36 games and have since gone 17-6-0-2 and are two points out of a playoff spot in the North Division. The two sides will collide again next week Saturday in Indianapolis.

Historic Winning Streak:

The Stingrays are riding a 19-game winning streak, the longest in ECHL history and second longest in North American professional hockey. The Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL) set the longest streak of 28 games during the 2011-12 season.

Backstopping the Stingrays:

Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis is currently on an ECHL-record shutout streak of 259:32.

Heading North:

Tonight starts a six-game stretch against North-Division opponents. After the Fuel, the Stingrays host the Cincinnati Cyclones tomorrow and open a season-high seven-game road trip Wednesday in Cincinnati and the journey continues Friday in Toledo, Saturday in Indy and Sunday in Evansville.
