Greenville Grrrowl News Release

GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL have announced that the Furman University Chapter of KAPPA DELTA Sorority has chosen this Saturday night's game against the Columbia Inferno to raise funds for Prevent Child Abuse America. For the past few weeks, the members of the sorority have sold tickets as a way to provide financial assistance to their chosen charity, which is supported nationally by Kappa Delta.

As of this release, a total of 452 tickets have been sold, with half of the revenue going back to the organization, to be donated to the charity. During the game, a check for $2,260.00 will be presented to Prevent Child Abuse America on behalf of Kappa Delta. There will be a table in the concourse with P.C.A.A. printed materials, and a representative on hand for questions and donation information.

"This event is a great way for our student body to be involved with our charitable efforts," said Kappa Delta's Julie Kettle. "We all work hard to assist P.C.A.A. each year, and the partnership with the Grrrowl adds a fun night out for all of our members."

To expand their participation in the game, Kappa Delta will participate in a "Pledge Bowling" competition on the ice through the use of the Human Puck promotion. Pledges from three Furman University fraternities will participate during an intermission at the game.

The Grrrowl host two games at the BI-LO Center this week, beginning with Saturday night against Columbia, and a Sunday afternoon game (3:05pm) with the Alaska Aces. 2004-05 Greenville Grrrowl TOP DOG ticket renewals, and single-game tickets for the remainder of the 2003-04 season are on sale now. Fans can call 864-467-GRRR or log on to grrrowl.com for more information.
