
Greenville's Boisclair Makes ECHL Record 65 Saves

PRINCETON, N.J. - Greenville goaltender Daniel Boisclair broke the ECHL record for most saves in a game with 65 saves in a 2-1 win at Greensboro on Wednesday. Under contract to Carolina of the National Hockey League, Boisclair eclipsed the record of 64 saves set by Christian Soucy of Baton Rouge against Tallahassee on January 18, 1997.
Selected in the sixth round (181st overall) by Carolina in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 21-year-old Boisclair made 20 saves in the first period, 21 saves in the second period and 24 saves in the third period as Greensboro took an ECHL season-high 66 shots.
The win improves Boisclair to 4-16-0 with a goals against average of 3.92 and a save percentage of .904 in 21 games with Greenville. In 2003-04, the 6-2 and 180-pound Boisclair is 7-19-0 with a goals against average of 3.55 and a save percentage of .909 in 28 games. He was 2-2-0 with a goals against average of 1.78 and a save percentage of .944 in five games with Peoria and 1-1-0 with a goals against average of 4.55 and a save percentage of .882 in two games with Florida. In his first professional season in 2002-03, Boisclair was 0-2-1 with a goals against average of 4.03 and a save percentage of .824 in four games with Florida of the ECHL.
Davis Parley of the Texas Wildcatters made 63 saves at Pensacola on January 2 tying Joel Laing of Wheeling (63 vs. Peoria on February 16, 2002) for the third most saves in a game. Parley has the league season-high for saves in the first period (27 on January 27 against Louisiana) and in the second period (27 at Greensboro on October 23) while teammate Mark Scally has the most saves in the third period (26 on January 16 against Louisiana).
