
Former Blades D-Man Carson makes NHL debut

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades are proud to announce that former Everblade defenseman Brett Carson made his National Hockey League debut on December 7 with the Carolina Hurricanes in their 3-1 win over the Washington Capitals.
Carson is the 16th player to dress both for the Everblades and play a game in the NHL, and is the 376th former ECHL player to skate in the NHL and the eighth in the past two week to make his debut. He is also the second former Blade to play in the NHL in the past week, joining Kenndal McArdle who make his NHL debut on Dec 2 with the Florida Panthers.
In his NHL debut Carson finished with no points and saw a total of 22:07 of ice time, including 4:07 on the penalty kill, as the Hurricanes closed to within four points of the Southeast Division leading Capitals.
Prior to his call-up Carson had played in 23 games with Albany this season notching 11 points (1g, 10a) and eight penalty minutes. Carson, who turned 23 on November 29, dressed for the Everblades at the start of the 2006-07 season playing in three games, scoring a goal and an assist before being recalled to Albany for the remainder of the season.

The Everblades return to action on Friday, December 12 when they host the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:30 p.m. from Germain Arena.
