Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades wrapped up their season-long nine-game road trip this past week after going 2-0-1 to enter this week's action with a record of 15-3-2 (32 pts., 1st South Division). The Everblades winning percentage of .800 is the best in the ECHL entering the week as well. THIS WEEK (All Times Eastern)
Friday & Saturday, December 12 & 13 vs. South Carolina Stingrays Both Games 7:30 p.m.
GAME NOTES: The Everblades return back home to Germain Arena this weekend to take on rival South Carolina. The games' are the fifth and sixth between the club this year and the third and fourth at Germain Arena. The Everblades currently hold a record of 2-1-1 vs. South Carolina and are 1-1-0 at home vs. Stingrays this year. The last time the teams met the EVerblades collected at 5-2 win on Nov. 1 at South Carolina. The Stingrays enter this week's action with a record of 12-6-2 (26 pts., 2nd, South Division).
UPCOMING PROMOTIONS:
Sat., Dec. 13: The Everblades are holding their annual "Teddy Bear Toss" during which they ask all fans that come to the game to bring a new, unwrapped stuffed toy with them to toss onto the ice after the Everblades score their first goal. The toys will then be collected and donated to SW Florida area youth charities.
LAST WEEK'S RESULTS
Wednesday, December 3 at Elmira Jackals 7-2 Win
The Everblades picked up a win in the lone meeting of the season against Elmira on Wednesday night at First Arena. The Everblades used a five-goal second period to blow the game open and collect their second straight win. Jacob Micflikier had four points (2g, 2a) and the Everblades collected goals from Yannick Tifu, Michael Grenzy, Kevin Baker, Danick Bouchard and Brad Herauf. In goal Anton Khudobin notched his career-high ninth straight win after stopping 16 of 18 shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 3-of-7; PK: 6-of-7.
Friday, December 5 at Trenton Devils 4-3 SOL
The Everblades earned a point in the standings after falling 4-3 in as shootout to Trenton on Friday night. The win was Trenton's second over the Everblades on this road trip and just their fourth at home. The Everblades picked up goals from Kevin Baker, Mathieu Roy and newcomer Matt Auffrey. Anton Khudobin made his fourth straight start and picked up a tie after stopping 39 of 42 shots in regulation and overtime. Florida Special Teams: PP: 2-of-4; PK: 5-of-6.
Saturday, December 6 at Reading Royals 4-3 Win
The Everblades ended their road trip in winning fashion, although had to come back from a three-goal deficit to do so on Saturday night. After the Royals had jumped to a 3-0 lead six minutes into the second period, the Everblades ripped off four unanswered goals over the remaining 12 minutes of the middle period. Yannick Tifu and Kevin Baker scored 1:27 apart midway thought the period, then Ernie Hartlieb and Brad Herauf recorded goals separated by just 18 seconds late in the period. Anton Khudobin held off a hard charge by the Royals in the third period to preserve the win, stopping 25 of 28 shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-of-5; PK: 5-of-5.
