Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release
Biloxi, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves beat the Gwinnett Gladiators 4-3 in a shootout on Friday at home before dropping a close one 9-2 to the Gladiators on Saturday evening.

BILOXI, MS - Ryan Menei welcomed himself back to Mississippi by scoring the game-tying goal with 1:03 remaining in regulation, and Ryan Munce earned his ninth win of the season as the Sea Wolves down the Gwinnett Gladiators 4-3 in a shootout at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Friday.
Th Gladiators drew first blood when Andy Brandt picked up the rebound of a shot from Jordan Fox at 8:12 of the secondd period. Mike Berrys third goal of the year tied the game at one-apiece as he took a pass from Alex Parent and buried it behind Gwinnett goalie Kevin Nastiuk at 13:16 of the second.
Mississippi grabbed the lead when Pat Oliveto's shot from the point snuck through Nastiuk's pads at 2:44 of the third period. What had been a disciplined effort for the sea Wolves turned the other way as the Gladiators got a two-man advantage with Michael Couch off for delay of game at 10:10 of the third and Justin Coutu off for tripping at 11:25 and then converted on both power-play opportunities with goals from Jordan Fox at 11:50 and Brad Schell at 18:57.
With Ryan Munce heading to the bench for an extra attacker, Ryan Menei tipped Ryan Cruthers' pass through Nastiuk's pads at 18:57 to draw the game even at three.
Ryan Munce made four saves during the scoreless overtime to draw his game total to 47, and then stopped six-of-eight Gwinnett shooters in the shootout before Mike Berry scored in the eighth round to win the game for Mississippi.

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves fell to the Gwinnett Gladiators by a score of 9-2 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Saturday night.
Jordan Fox got the Gladiators on the board when he took a long lead pass from Chris Cava and beat Jeremy Duchesne on the glove side at 16:09 of the first period. Pat Bateman's power-play marker at 17:20 gave the Gladiators the lead heading into the locker room after one period.
Scott Marchesi's power-play blast from the point gave the Gladiators a 3-0 lead just 3:25 into the second period. Mississippi's Alex Parent scored the first of his two goals on the evening when Ryan Cruthers found him open in the middle of the ice, put the puck on his stick and Parent popped it past the Gladiators' Kevin Nastiuk at 6:19. Gwinnett got its' three-goal lead back when Brad Schell buried a slapshot from the top of the left circle that chased Sea Wolves starter Jeremy Duchesne from the net at 11:14. Alex Parent's second of the game came at 12:27 when he took a lead pass from Ryan Cruthers and broke down the right wing, made a move and put the puck past Nastiuk on the glove side to cut the Gladiators lead to two.
Jeff Dunne would restore the Gladiators' three-goal lead again just 46 seconds into the third period, and Gwinnett would add insurance goals in the third period from Bruce Graham at 2:26, Dan Sullivan at 5:47, Graham again on the power play at 9:32, and Brad Schell at 13:27.
