
FC Dallas Hosts New Mexico United in Round of 16 of 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup

Frisco, Texas - FC Dallas hosts USL Championship team New Mexico United in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 on June 19 at Westcott Field. The match is set to kick off at 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
FC Dallas advanced to the Round of 16 after defeating OKC Energy FC, 4-0, on June 12 at Westcott Field. Matt Hedges scored the first goal of the night in the 11th minute and forward Ricardo Pepi made his FC Dallas debut and recorded his first FC Dallas assist in the 43rd minute.
This will be the first matchup between FC Dallas and New Mexico United in Open Cup history. New Mexico defeated Colorado Rapids 4-2 in penalty kicks after they tied the match 2-2 in stoppage time.
FC Dallas won the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 1997 and 2016 and was the runner-up in 2005 and 2007. FC Dallas has a 35-20-6 record all-time in the U.S. Open Cup and a 21-6-3 record all-time in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex.
Tickets for the Round of 16 match against New Mexico United FC will be general admission and can be purchased here for $15.
The winner of the 2019 tournament will receive $300,000, a 2020 Concacaf Champions League berth, and will have its team name engraved on the Dewar Challenge Trophy displayed at the National Soccer Hall of Fame, the oldest nationally-contested trophy in American sports.
