COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC is set to host a Lamar Hunt 2019 U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 match at 7:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, June 18 at MAPFRE Stadium. The Black & Gold will face the winner of tonight's Atlanta United - Charleston Battery Fourth Round contest. All matches in the 2019 U.S. Open Cup continue to be broadcast on ESPN+.
All 2019 Crew SC Full Season Ticket Members receive tickets to all Crew SC U.S. Open Cup home matches through the quarterfinals as part of their memberships. Tickets for the June 18 match will be available beginning tomorrow, Friday June 14 at 10:00 a.m. ET, starting at $19 and can be purchased at ColumbusCrewSC.com. The tickets will be automatically loaded onto Season Ticket Member accounts tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. with no RSVP process required. All Open Cup matches that Crew SC is drawn to host will be played as true home matches at MAPFRE Stadium - the site of Crew SC's 2002 U.S. Open Cup Final victory.
The winner of the U.S. Open Cup qualifies directly for the CONCACAF Champions League with a chance to qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup, a tournament featuring champion clubs from each of the six continental confederations.
Founded in 1914, the U.S. Open Cup is the oldest cup competition in U.S. soccer. Crew SC holds a 19-12-13 record in the U.S. Open Cup, dating back to the Crew's tournament debut in 1998. The Black & Gold were crowned U.S. Open Cup champions on October 24, 2002, when they defeated the LA Galaxy 1-0 at MAPFRE Stadium.
Following its U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 match on Tuesday, June 18, Crew SC returns to regular-season action in a home contest at MAPFRE Stadium against Sporting Kansas City on Sunday, June 23 [5:30 p.m. ET / FOX Sports Ohio, FOX Sports GO (Stream) / 97.1 The Fan & 971TheFan.com (English); ColumbusCrewSC.com (Spanish)].
