Escobedo Loaned to AHL Manitoba

Estero, FL - The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced defenseman Sean Escobedo has been loaned to the AHL's Manitoba Moose. It's the third time Escobedo has been promoted to the American Hockey League this season following call-ups to Hartford and Charlotte.

A third-year pro, Escobodo has notched career highs in assists (21), points (22) and games played (62) with the Swamp Rabbits this season. He has also collected one goal and 44 penalty minutes. In addition, the 25-year-old played two games with the Wolf Pack and one contest with the AHL's Charlotte Checkers earlier this season.

Last season, Escobedo recorded 19 points (3g, 16a) in 61 games and led all Greenville defensemen with a +8 rating. He also earned two AHL call-ups with Hartford and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, amassing three points (1g, 2a) in four contests combined. He completed the season in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

A native of Bayside, New York, Escobedo spent the majority of his rookie campaign in 2013-14 with the ECHL's Stockton Thunder, producing 15 points (6g, 9a), 57 penalty minutes and a +2 rating in 50 games. He also made his AHL debut with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on November 16, 2013 and faced Hartford in a 4-1 setback.

Prior to turning pro, the 6'1, 205-pounder played four seasons at Boston University from 2009-2013. He registered 33 points (6g, 27a) and 208 penalty minutes in 145 games.

Next Time Out: The Swamp Rabbits continue a five-game road trip on Friday with a 7:30 p.m. puck drop against the Florida Everblades at Germain Arena. Fans can follow all of the live action via the Mixlr audio stream or ECHL.TV. The Official Road Watch Party Destination, the Palmetto Restaurant and Ale House (located at 103 E. Beacon Drive in Greenville), will also stream the game live beginning at 7:30 p.m.
