Indy Fuel News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Keegan Asmundson made a career-high 47 saves and Daniel Ciampini recorded his second consecutive three-point game as the Indy Fuel beat the Cincinnati Cyclones 5-1 Friday night at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Asmundson allowed only a second period goal to Peter Quennville in an otherwise strong outing while the Fuel offense posted five goals in a game for the first time since February 17 at Orlando.

Ben Marshall kicked off the scoring with a power play goal at 16:36 of the first period, followed just 1:08 later by Matt White's sixth of the year which went for the game-winner.

In the second the Fuel received goals from Kevin Clare, Ciampini and Peter Schneider to blow the game wide open and roll to the victory.

Although the third period contained no scoring, there were three fights and a total of 36 minutes in penalties between the two teams. In total, the Fuel and Cyclones combined for 52 minutes in penalties after coming in as the second and third-least penalized teams in the ECHL respectively.

The same two teams will renew their rivalry next Thursday night in Cincinnati to culminate the 11-game season series. The Morellis Cleaners Indy Fuel pregame show starts 15 minutes prior to puck drop for the webcast on CBSSports1430.com and via the TuneIn Radio app.
