Early Goal only Offence in 4-1 Setback

Moose Jaw, SK - The Calgary Hitmen closed their four game East Division road trip with a 4-1 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday night at Mosaic Place.

The Hitmen opened the scoring with the lone goal of the first period as Riley Fiddler-Schultz counted his team leading 22nd marker of the season.

The Warriors answered with a strong middle frame getting a pair of goals from Brayden Yager and a single from Ryder Korczak to take a 3-1 lead.

In the third period, Yager completed the hat-trick when he scored shorthanded into an empty net to finish the scoring.

Calgary outshot Moose Jaw 32-28 with Warriors goaltender Jackson Unger making 31 saves while Ethan Buenaventura turned aside 24 shots for Calgary.

The game ended a busy stretch for the Hitmen who played their fourth game in five days and their fifth in a week in five different cities.

Calgary, 18-19-5-2, will now return to Alberta to open a four-game homestand on Wednesday, Feb. 16 in a rematch with the Warriors. Game time at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on Tsuut'ina Nation is 7:00 p.m.

Also on the upcoming home schedule are visits from Winnipeg (Feb. 18), Saskatoon (Feb. 20) and Prince Albert (Feb. 23).
