The Americans wrapped up their three game season series against the B.C. Division leading Kamloops Blazers tonight. After defeating the Blazers in both prior meetings this season, the Americans struggled to find their groove tonight, falling 6-1 in Kamloops.

The Blazers jumped out to a dominate 4-0 lead in the first period. They followed with one more goal in each the the second and third periods to take a 6-0 lead over Tri-City.

Luke Toporowski and Logan Stankoven lead the Blazers each with a pair of goals.

Tri-City was finally able to break past the Blazers with a goal from Sam Huo 7:08 into the final frame. Huo was able to sweep in a rebound off a shot from Chase Friedt-Mohr past Blazers netminder Dylan Ernst. The goal was Huo's 14th of the season.

Dylan Ernst is the brother of Americans forward Ethan Ernst. Tonight was the first time the two have faced each other in a WHL regular season game.

Tomas Suchanek started in net for the Americans and stopped 14 of 18 shots faced in the first period. Nick Avakyan relieved Suchanek in net for the remaining two periods, turning aside 29 of 31 shots faced.

Jordan Gavin joined the Americans and played his fourth game with the team. The 15-year-old forward was selected second overall in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft. He is eligible to play five games with the Americans before the completion of his season with Delta Hockey Academy.
