Colorado Eagles News Release
Windsor, CO â The Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League (CHL) are 12-4-1 on the 2003-04 season. The Eagles take on the Memphis River Kings, November 26 and 28; face-off is set for both nights at 7:05 p.m. at the Budweiser Events Center. The Eagles will then face off with the New Mexico Scorpions Wednesday, December 3 at 7:05 p.m. at the Budweiser Events Center.

November 19 â Colorado Eagles vs Lubbock EAGLES 7-2
The Eagles struck early when right winger, Greg Pankewicz, scored from defenseman Brad Williamson 3:51 into the first period. The period remained scoreless until, with only forty five seconds left in the period (19:15), Eagles center Riley Nelson netted a goal from forward Brad Patterson and defenseman Aaron Grosul (Grosul's first game back from injured reserve). Fifteen seconds later (19:30) Patterson scored an unassisted goal. The period ended with a 3-0 Eagles lead. Eagles goaltender Gian Baldrica played a perfect first period of play (the goalies first game in the net for the Eagles).
Eight minutes fifty three seconds into the second period the Cotton Kings forward Chris Duggan scored from right winger Dave MacIntyre and left winger Paul Fioroni. Lubbock's goal was answered by Eagles right winger Pankewicz 12:23 into the period when he scored from Nelson. Less than a minute later defenseman Jesse Cook netted a goal from defenseman Igor Bondarevs. With one minute six seconds left in the period Cotton Kings forward Jim Shepherd scored from Duggan and defenseman Matthew Paul. The period ended with a 5-2 Eagle lead (Eagles out shot the Cotton Kings 30 to 11).
The third period remained scoreless until Eagles defenseman Bondarevs netted a goal forward forward Daniel Bohac and left winger Lee Arnold (13:18). Eagles scored again at 16:39 when center Nelson netted a goal from Pankewicz and Grosul.
Eagles goaltender Gian Baldrica was in the net for the first time for the Eagles and experienced a win in his first professional game. Baldrica saved 16 of 18 shots on goal. The Eagles out-shot the Cotton Kings 39 to 18. The Colorado Eagles are now 10-4-1 on the season with 21 points. The Eagles are first in the Northwest Division and are tied for second with Laredo in the league overall (Memphis is currently first with 24 points).
November 21 â Colorado Eagles vs Indianapolis Ice EAGLES 4-3
The first period was scoreless until 14:40 when the Ice's right winger Joe Guenther netted a goal from defensemen Chad McIver and Ryan Aikia. It took the Eagles only 21 seconds to strike back, left winger Mike McGhan scored his first goal of the season (15:01) from forward Karlis Zirnis. The period ended at an even 1-1, the Eagles out shot the Ice 16 to 9.
Five minutes forty five seconds into the second period Eagles center Riley Nelson scored a power play goal from defenseman Scott Swanson and right winger Ryan Tobler. The period ended with a 2-1 Eagle lead.
Indianapolis struck early in third period (3:11) when defenseman Mario Doyon scored on a power play from left wingers Jeff Dumba and Jason Baird. The Eagles Tobler answered Doyon's goal 13 seconds later when he scored from right winger Greg Pankewicz and Nelson. Six minutes thirty two seconds into the period the Ice's Doyon netted his second goal of the night from Dumba and right winger John Selleke. The game remained tied at 3-3 until 11:17 into the period Eagles Pankewicz scored the game winning goal from defenseman Jesse Cook and Tobler. The game ended with another Eagles victory, 4-3.
Eagles goaltender Ryan Bach saved 29 of 32 shots on goal for a .908 save percentage on the season. The Eagles out-shot the Indianapolis Ice 37 to 32. The Colorado Eagles are now 10-4-1 on the season with 23 points. The Eagles are first in the Northwest Division and are tied for second with Laredo and San Angelo in the league overall (Memphis is currently first with 24 points).
November 22 â Colorado Eagles vs Indianapolis Ice EAGLES 4-3
The Ice struck early in the first period when center Dave Gilmore netted the first goal of the game (3:19) from the defenseman Bernie John and left winger Jason Baird. Seven minutes fifty six seconds into the period Ice's right winger Joe Guenther scored from center Russ Guzior and left winger Jared Dumba. The period ended with a 3-0 Ice lead.
The Eagles were ready to even the score in the second. Center Brad Patterson netted the Eagles first goal of the night 6:20 into the period from left winger Karlis Zirnis. The Eagles struck again late in the period when center Riley Nelson scored on a power play from left winger Ryan Tobler and right winger Greg Pankewicz. The period ended with a 3-2 Indianapolis lead.
One minute twenty seconds into the third period Eagles left winger Mike McGhan netted a goal from Patterson and forward Karlis Zirnis to even the score, 3-3. The Eagles struck again 5:16 into the period when Nelson scored his second goal of the night from defenseman Jesse Cook and Pankewicz. The game ended with another Eagles victory in an incredible come back, 4-3.
Eagles goaltender Ryan Bach saved 35 of 38 shots on goal for a .910 save percentage on the season. The Eagles out-shot the Indianapolis Ice 47 to 38. The Colorado Eagles are now 12-4-1 on the season with 25 points. The Eagles are first in the Northwest Division and are second in the league overall and are only one point beind league leader the Memphis River Kings.

COACH'S SHOW
Head Coach Chris Stewart's "Coach's Show" will air today, Monday, November 10, at 5 p.m. on 1410 AM the Zone. The show is broadcast live from Bennigans in Fort Collins and is hosted by The Zone's Kevin McGlue and the Colorado Eagles play-by-play personality, Tori Holt. This week's "Coach's Show" will consist of commentary on the Colorado Eagles Wednesday night match up against the Lubbock Cotton Kings, Friday's and Saturday's face off with the Indianapolis Ice, and the away games Saturday and Sunday against Wichita and Oklahoma City. A couple players will be there to discuss the games as well. Fans are encouraged to come to Bennigans to listen to the show, and if they cannot make it they can always call in with questions.

Wed. Nov. 26 7:05 p.m. vs Memphis River Kings @ the Budweiser Events Center Notes: The Colorado Eagles have yet to face the River Kings. Memphis will be the Eagles toughest match up to date. The River Kings are currently number one overall in the Central Hockey league (they are only one point ahead of the Eagles with 26 points-the Eagles currently have 25 points).

UPCOMING COMMUNITY EVENTS: 11/26 & 11/28 Toy Drive: For all home games 11/5 to 11/28 there will be a toy drive, so fans can bring new toys to the Budweiser Events Center to donate to children to help make more children's holiday wishes come true.
11/28/03 Teddy Bear Toss: Fans can bring new stuffed animals to the game to throw onto the ice. The animals will be donated to the Toy Drive and there will be teddy bears available for purchase at the game as well.
