Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release


The Pensacola Ice Pilots went 1-1 this past week winning at Columbus 4-1 last Friday night and losing at Texas on Saturday night 4-1.

Dwayne Hay, Corey Neilson, Aaron Phillips and Jean Francois Soucy scored goals for the Ice Pilots vs. Columbus. Brian Eklund was the winning goalie. Tyler Kindle scored the only goal of the game for the Ice Pilots in the loss at Texas and Brian Eklund was the losing goalie.

The Ice Pilots have a record of 7-6-1 for 15 points which is good for fourth place in the Central Division of the Western Conference.

The Ice Pilots Play home games on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday: The Ice Pilots will play home this Tuesday night vs. Mississippi at 7:05 p.m. and will play Mississippi again at home on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots have a record of 2-0 vs. Mississippi this season winning in Biloxi in overtime 4-3 on October 19th and defeating Mississippi at home on November 1st 6-2. The Ice Pilots have an all time record of 20-32-6 vs. the Sea Wolves including a record of 11-14-3 at home and 9-18-3 on the road. The Ice Pilots will play at home on Friday vs. Louisiana at 7:05 p.m. and will also play away at Louisiana on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots are 0-2 vs. Louisiana this season losing at home on November 14th 5-4 and losing at Louisiana on November 16th 6-1. The Ice Pilots have an all-time regular season record vs. Louisiana of 17-30-5 including a home record of 12-10-4 and a record of 5-20-1 on the road.

Ice Pilots in Fourth Place

Ice Pilots leaders: Ice Pilots defenseman Corey Neilson leads the team with 19 points and is the second top scoring defenseman in the ECHL. Brian Eklund is fourth in the league with 351 saves. Greg Chambers is fifth in the league in scoring among rookies with 14 points and is third among rookies with 10 assists. Chambers is also second in the league among power play points with 7. Brian Collins is also among tops in the league in scoring among rookies with 10 points. Jean Francois Soucy leads all rookies with 15 minor penalties.

Promotions for three home games this Thanksgiving Week
The Ice Pilots next home game is Tuesday, November 25th vs. Mississippi at 7:05 p.m. It is Nextel Holiday Food Drive and a Lady Turkey Shoot will take place. Fans who bring three or more nonperishable food items to the game will receive $3 off any ticket to the game and also a Nextel, Manna Food Drive, Ice Pilots Rally Towel. A lady turkey shoots will take place after the game sponsored by Albertson's. The Ice Pilots will play home on the day after Thanksgiving vs. Louisiana on Friday, November 28th at 7:05 p.m. It is Hooter's Restaurant Night and Florida Lottery Night. Prizes will be given away. The Hooter girls will have a broom ball game during the intermission. The Ice Pilots will play home on Sunday, November 30th vs. Mississippi at 5:05 p.m. It is Kids Day. The first 1,000 kids will receive megaphones sponsored by the Ice Pilots and Pensacola Pelicans. Fans can purchase 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 sodas for $44 by calling the Ice Pilots office at 432-PUCK. There will be all kind of games for the kids to play. Fans will be able to skate with the Ice Pilot players after the game. Cost is $6 with skate rental and $4 with your own skates.

Ice Pilots in the Community
The Ice Pilots will talk to elementary kids at Holly Navarre Intermediate School on Monday.

Practice Schedule for the week
The Ice Pilots will practice on Monday at 10:00 a.m. and will have a pre-skate on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. and play home to Mississippi on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will practice on Wednesday and Than! ksgiving day at 10:00 a.m. The Ice Pilots will have a pre-skate on Friday at 10:00 a.m. and will play home to Louisiana on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will leave for Louisiana after the game on Friday and play at Louisiana on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will play home to Mississippi on Sunday at 5:05 p.m.

Nominated Player of the Week
Jeremy Van Hoof has been nominated for the ECHL Player of the Week for his steady play on defense this week and Brian Eklund has been nominated for goalie of the week going 1-1 this past weekend.

Season Ticket Packages are available with year round payments
Full season ticket packages and 16 game packages are available with year round payments. The following is a list of the full season ticket plan with year round payments: $22 seats for floor and glass is $49.99 per month, $15 seats for sides is $35.99 per month, $13 seats for goal and lower upper level is $32.99 per month, $10 seats for upper level is $24.99 per month.

Group Tickets
Group tickets are available at the Ice Pilots office. A group of 15-24 will receive $2 off per ticket and scoreboard recognition. A group of 25-99 will receive $2 off per ticket, scoreboard recognition, the group leader receive two free tickets with a minimum of 25 tickets purchased and group members are eligible to become an MVP. Each group member fills out and MVP card, (Cards are mailed with the group tickets), and drops the card in the MVP box at customer service before the game, and has the opportunity to win a valuable prize! Groups of 100 or more will receive scoreboard recognition, two free tickets, MVP cards plus $3 off per ticket and an opportunity to perform the national anthem or participate in the ceremonial puck drop (Subject to availability and approval).

Birthday Parties
Celebrate your birthday with the Ice Pilots. The Ice Pilots birthday party package includes hot dogs, cokes, cake and 10 $13 lower goal game tickets, a special gift pack for the birthday person delivered by Iceman, a birthday card signed by the Ice Pilots and scoreboard recognition. Assigned Players from Tampa Bay
The Ice Pilots currently have seven players on the roster assigned from Tampa Bay. They are goalies Brian Eklund, Evgeny Konstantinov and forward Dwayne Hay. Forward Jean Francois Soucy, forward Ryan Craig and defenseman Jeremy Van Hoof and Andreas Holmqvist are also assigned from Tampa. Ryan Craig has been called up to Hershey.

Ice Pilots team up with Nextel for "Nextel Can for a Cause" vs. Mississippi on November 25th at 7:05 p.m.
The Ice pilots will host "Nextel Can for a Cause" holiday food drive when the Ice Pilots play home to Mississippi on Tuesday, November 25th at 7:05 p.m. Each fan who donates three or more nonperishable food items at the game will receive $3 off the ticket price at the box office, and will also receive an Ice Pilots, Manna Food Pantry and Nextel Rally Towel.

Kerr's Kids
This season the Ice Pilots are introducing "Kerr's Kids." Thanks to Ice Pilots owner Tim Kerr and SMG (Pensacola Civic Center), the Ice Pilots would like to invite six children and their escorts to a game. The Ice Pilots will provide free admission, a goodie bag for each child and SMG will provide a hot dog and soda for each guest. Accessible seating will be arranged for "Kerr's Kids" in section 105. Listen to games on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network
Fans can listen to Ice Pilots games on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network. The network includes flagship station WCOA AM 1370, Mediacom's preview guide channel, Cox Media channel 2 and at icepilots.com sponsored by Sports Avenue. The pre-game show on Tuesday and Friday night vs. Mississippi and Louisiana will begin at 7:00 p.m. The pre-game show Saturday at Louisiana begins at 6:30 p.m. and the pre-game show on Sunday begins at 4:30 p.m.

Coach's Radio Show has new location this season
The Ice Pilots Coach's Radio show is broadcasted from the Gutter Lounge at Phoenix Crossing inside the new Liberty Lanes this year located at 3200 North Palafox Street. The show is broadcasted on the Ice Pilots hockey network from 6 p.m. 7 p.m. Fans can hear the radio show on WCOA AM 1370 and on the internet at www.icepilots.com sponsored by Sports Avenue. Fans can meet the players, head coach Todd Gordon and members of the Ice Pilots office staff all season long. Forward Jamie Herrington and defenseman Andreas Holmqvist will be the player guests tonight.
