Bombers to Give Thanks and Play Three

The Dayton Bombers will look ahead to three more road games to conclude the month of November, before kick-starting a six-game home stand Friday, December 5 against the Greensboro Generals (7:00 p.m.) at the Ervin J. Nutter Center. Below is a look back at the Bombers' ECHL-America's Premier AA Hockey League contests this past week:

11/21/03- BOMBERS 2 @ Toledo 4

Alexander Jacques scored three goals, including an empty-netter as the Toledo Storm defeated the Dayton Bombers 4-2 Friday night at the Toledo Sports Arena. The Bombers trailed 2-0, then rallied to tie with a late first period power play marker by Jade Galbraith and a second period rebound goal by Michael Chin at 16:28. But Jacques scored his second goal of the game at 17:50, then added an empty-netter, his third goal, with eighteen seconds remaining to cement the win. Bombers' goalie Bujar Amidovski made 28 saves in defeat. Mike Nelson scored the other Toledo goal.

11/22/03- BOMBERS 2 @ Johnstown 5

Five different players scored goals as the Johnstown Chiefs defeated the Dayton Bombers 5-2 Saturday night at the Cambria County War Memorial in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Jason Deskins scored his team-leading ninth goal and added an assist for the Bombers, while Brad Ralph scored the other Bombers' goal. Steve Hildenbrand, Jay Langager, Brent Kelly, Dan Growden, and Jason Notermann netted tallies for the Chiefs.

11/23/03- Roanoke 3 @ BOMBERS 2

Two late second period goals 1:10 apart helped the Roanoke Express turn a 2-1 deficit into an eventual 3-2 win over the Dayton Bombers at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Sunday evening. Blair Stayzer tied the game at two on a drive to the net at 18:00 of the second period to tie the game, then Dan Carlson notched a power-play score at 19:10 for the decisive goal. Jason Deskins scored a first period goal for the Bombers, while Jamie O'Leary also tallied on the power play in his Bombers' debut.

BOMBER BITES: Entering the week, sophomore center Jason Deskins has a team-leading ten goals, tied for fourth in the ECHL-America's Premier AA Hockey League ... After the Bombers' three-game road trip to conclude the month of November, the Bombers will play nine of 14 December games at the Ervin J. Nutter Center ... Eight of the ten games preceding Christmas will be played at home.

BOMBERS' COMMUNITY APPEARANCE SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK: (Subject to change; Please call ahead)

- Goalie Andrew Penner, defensemen Nick Nutcher and Jake Wiegand, in addition to forwards Janne Jokila and Michael Chin appeared on the Ervin J. Nutter Center ice on Monday, November 24 with the talent and crew of "The Daily Buzz" Morning Show that appears locally on the WB. The two teams competed in a half-ice hockey game. Footage for the piece was shot for an expected later television airing.

- Goalies Andrew Penner and Bujar Amidovski, as well as defenseman Jason Crain and forward Janne Jokila will pay a visit to the Children's Medical Center in downtown Dayton from 2-3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25. They are also expected to participate in the Children's Medical Center/Children's Miracle Network radiothon.

- Head Coach Jamie Ling and Bucky will make an appearance at the Northmont School from 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25 to stress the importance of goal-setting.

Friday, 11/28/2003 @ Toledo (7:30 p.m./7:15 p.m. broadcast time- Media Center/Listen Live section- in association with www.broadcastmonsters.com) The Bombers will return to the Toledo Sports Arena, the site of the Bombers' 4-2 loss to the Storm this past Friday. Overall, the Bombers are 1-1 against Toledo this season.

Saturday, 11/29/2003 @ Cincinnati (7:30 p.m./7:15 p.m. broadcast time- Media Center/Listen Live section- in association with www.broadcastmonsters.com) The Bombers will search for their second win of the season against the Cyclones in this intrastate clash that concludes November ECHL action for the team. The Bombers are 1-3 against the Cyclones this season.
