The Johnstown Chiefs (12-3-1; 25 PTS; 1st Northern div.) extended their unbeaten streak to six games (5-0-1) with wins over Wheeling and Dayton last week. The Chiefs are currently in first place in the Northern division leading second place Atlantic City by three points. The Chiefs are tied with the Gwinnett Gladiators for the best overall record in the ECHL (25 points each). However, the Chiefs have one more win than the Gladiators. This week the Chiefs will play three games, with a road game Wednesday night in Wheeling followed up with a pair of home games Friday and Saturday against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies.

GAME #15 (11/21/03) JOHNSTOWN 4 – Wheeling 1 Irbe 46 Saves

Johnstown Chiefs goaltender Arturs Irbe made 46 saves en route to their 4-1 win over the Wheeling Nailers Friday night at the War Memorial. The Chiefs jumped out to a 3-0 lead with goals by Richard Paul, Jason Notermann, and Shawn Mather. Wheeling pulled with two goals when Steve Crampton scored just 1:19 into the third period. Just twenty seconds later Dominic Forget scored his fifth goal of the season and give the Chiefs a 4-1 lead. Wheeling goaltender Andy Chiodo made 28 saves in the game. Wheeling out shot the Chiefs 47-32 in the contest.

GAME #16 (11/22/03) JOHNSTOWN 5 – Dayton 2 Currie First Pro Win

The Johnstown Chiefs picked up their third straight win Saturday night with a 5-2 victory over the visiting Dayton Bombers. Brent Kelly and Jason Notermann each had a goal and an assist for the Chiefs. Steve Hildenbrand, Jay Langager and Dan Growden also scored. Jason Deskins and Brad Ralph scored the Dayton goals. Chiefs goaltender David Currie picked up his first professional win making 18 saves. Andrew Penner suffered the loss making 14 saves for the Bombers. The Chiefs improve their record to 12-3-1 on the season while the Bombers fall to 3-8-1.

Wednesday night, the Chiefs and the Wheeling Nailers (8-6-1, 17 PTS; 5th Northern div.) will face one another for the fourth time this season. The Chiefs are 3-0-0 against the Nailers this season and 59-57-15 all-time. Wheeling is currently fifth place in the Northern division trailing fourth place Trenton by two points. The Nailers have last three straight games and are 4-5-1 in their last ten games.

This Friday and Saturday night the Chiefs will host the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies in a battle of the Northern divisions top teams. The Chiefs are 1-1-0 against the Bullies this season. The Bullies are currently in second place in the Northern division trailing the Chiefs by three points. The Bullies are 5-5-0 in their last ten games. Friday night, the first 1,000 people through the gate will receive "Thunder stix" courtesy of the Mountain 96.5. Saturday night, will be the first of five WKYE/ Dodge Shootouts.  Jeff Sullivan's 922 PIM, is 45 PIM shy of breaking Rick Boyd's all-time Chiefs PIM record.

 Jason Notermann is second among ECHL rookies in scoring with 19 points.

 The Chiefs have won five straight games at home.

 The Chiefs are 8-1-1 in their last ten games and 4-0-1 in their last five games.

November 25th, Chiefs players will be reading and meeting with students at St. Clements Elementary School in Johnstown. The players will be at the school from 1pm-2:30 p.m.
