Everblades Trio has 76 Points in 16 Games

Tied for the ECHL lead with 12 goals each, Florida's Brian McCullough and Keith Anderson also sit atop the league in scoring with 27 points and 25 points, respectively, while linemate Brent McDonald is tied for fourth with 24 points (8g-16a).

McCullough has scored a goal in each of his last four games (five goals) as the Everblades have gone 4-0-0 to remain in first place in the Southern Division. He has scored a point in all but two games this season, a 3-2 overtime loss against Gwinnett on November 1 and a 1-0 loss at Bakersfield on November 9. McCullough opened the season scoring a goal in each of Florida's first five games, tying him for the second-longest goal scoring streak of the season with Texas' Bob Cunningham (seven goals) and Dayton's Jason Deskins (five goals), and he has scored a goal in 10 of Florida's first 15 games. McCullough is tied for the team lead with three game-winning goals, four power-play goals and six power-play assists while his 10 power-play points are also a team best.

In 2002-03 with Reading, McCullough ranked third in the ECHL with 95 points (39g-56a) and was selected to the 2003 ECHL All-Star Game, scoring a goal in the Northern Conference's 9-3 win. It was McCullough's second All-Star appearance as he scored a hat trick in the Northern Conference's 9-5 loss at Little Rock, Ark. in 2001 and ranks second with four career All-Star goals and fifth in career All-Star scoring with five points (4g-1a).

The longest goal-scoring streak of the season is nine games by Anderson, who scored 11 goals from October 18 to November 9. Anderson, who scored a goal in Saturday's 3-1 win against Florence, scored a point in each of Florida's first 10 games (11g-10a), including 13 points (5g-8a) in the first five games. Anderson is tied for the team lead with six power-play assists while his nine power-play points tie him for second on the team with McDonald.

Anderson scored 38 points (16g-22a) in 72 regular season games and also appeared in the Kelly Cup Playoffs with Florida in 2002-03. As a rookie in 2001-02, he scored 28 points (9g-19a) in 68 regular season games and had one goal in six Kelly Cup Playoff games.

Selected in the ninth round (239th overall) by Carolina in the 1998 National Hockey League Entry Draft, McDonald leads the Everblades with 16 assists and is tied for the team lead with four power-play goals. In 2002-03, the 24-year-old McDonald scored 14 points (10g-4a) in 18 regular season games and had one goal in one Kelly Cup Playoff game with Florida while also scoring 15 points (7g-8a) in 52 regular season games with Lowell of the American Hockey League. In 2001-02, McDonald scored 32 points (12g-20a) in 69 regular season games and four points (2g-2a) in six Kelly Cup Playoff games with Florida. As a rookie with Florida in 2000-01, McDonald scored 22 points (11g-11a) in 67 regular season games and had one goal in five Kelly Cup Playoff games.


Dumont Goes For ECHL Career Record Tuesday Against Former Team

Mississippi's Louis Dumont scored a goal in Sunday's 4-0 win against Texas giving him 688 career points, one point shy of Rod Taylor, who holds the ECHL career scoring record with 689 points. He has 688 points in 579 regular season ECHL games and ranks eighth in career goals with 265 and second in career assists with 423. He needs 37 assists to tie all-time leader Chris Valicevic and three goals to tie Jay Murphy for seventh place.

The Sea Wolves travel to Pensacola on Tuesday for a 7:05 p.m. CT game. Dumont played the past two seasons with Pensacola. He led the ECHL in scoring in 2001-02 with Pensacola, helping the Ice Pilots return to the Kelly Cup Playoffs, and in 2002-03 he led the team with 51 assists while ranking second in scoring with 71 points. Traded to Pensacola prior to the 2001-02 season, Dumont scored 173 points (52g-121a) in 140 regular season games and six points (2g-4a) in seven Kelly Cup Playoff games with the Ice Pilots.

In his 10th season in the ECHL, Dumont has scored 18 points (9g-9a) in 17 games including 13 points (6g-7a) in his last 10 games. He enters Tuesday with a three-game goal scoring streak (three goals) and a five-game scoring streak (4g-3a). Dumont has 13 points (7g-6a) on the road, scoring a point in all but one of Mississippi's 10 road games, and five points (2g-3a) in seven home games.

Taylor, who played 12 seasons in the ECHL, set the career mark on January 29, 2003 as a member of the South Carolina Stingrays with whom he scored 18 points (8g-10a) in 31 regular season games in 2002-03. He also played two games for Peoria in 2002-03, registering an assist, and two games with Toledo. Taylor, who played all but 18 of his professional games in the ECHL, holds the career ECHL regular season records for points (689), goals (368), 30-goal seasons (8) and consecutive 30-goal seasons (6).

Aces Have Sellout, ECHL Attendance Still Strong

Bolstered by three crowds over 6,000 on Saturday, including a sellout crowd of 6,293 in Alaska and a season-high crowd of 6,118 in Bakersfield, the ECHL has drawn 890,002 for 236 games and is averaging 3,771 per game, up almost six percent from the ECHL average of 3,560 for the 210 games played during the first six weeks of 2002-03. The ECHL and WCHL combined to draw 937,222 for 250 games in the first five weeks of 2002-03, an average of 3,749 per game.


Storm Defenseman Ballantyne Has Six-Point Night

Toledo defensman Paul Ballantyne scored an ECHL season-high six points in the Storm's 9-3 win at Wheeling on Saturday. Selected in the sixth round (196th overall) by Detroit in the 2000 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Ballantyne is on an NHL contract with the Red Wings. The 6-3 and 204-pound Ballantyne scored a goal in the first period and a goal in the second period while also tallying three of his four assists in the second as Toledo took a 7-3 lead.

The 21-year-old Ballantyne entered the game with six points (2g-4a) in 11 games, and doubled his season totals in goals, assists and points with his six-point night, giving him a team-leading eight assists and 12 points in 12 games.

In his first professional season in 2002-03, Ballantyne scored 26 points (10g-16a) in 56 regular season games while helping Toledo capture the Brabham Cup, awarded annually to the regular-season point champion of the ECHL, and one point (0g-1a) in seven Kelly Cup Playoff games. He also played in seven games with Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.

The previous season high was five points by Texas' Cory Morgan (1g-4a at Greensboro on October 23), Pensacola's Corey Neilson (0g-5a vs. Mississippi on November 1) and Mississippi's Steffon Walby (1g-4a at Florence on November 14).


Magliarditi, Saal Move Up ECHL Career Lists

Las Vegas goaltender Marc Magliarditi is 9-2-2 and has moved into fifth place in the ECHL with 143 career wins in 233 games while Augusta goaltender Jason Saal is 6-3-1 and has moved into sixth place with 140 career wins in 277 games.

Magliarditi is three wins shy of fourth place Cory Cadden, who had 146 wins in 294 games from 1992-2001 with Knoxville, Dayton, Peoria, South Carolina and Pee Dee. Saal has also moved into fourth place with 277 career games, 17 behind third place Cadden.

Magliarditi is 9-2-2 with a 2.20 goals against average and a .932 save percentage as the expansion Wranglers sit in first place in the Pacific Division with a 9-5-4 record. Named Sun National Bank ECHL Saver of the month after going 5-0-0 with a 1.98 goals against average and a .944 save percentage in October, Magliarditi is second in the league with 396 saves and is tied for second in the league with nine wins while ranking third with 790 minutes.

In 1998-99, Magliarditi led the ECHL with 32 wins and was second in goals against average with 2.27 while helping the expansion Florida Everblades finish with a 45-20-5 record and a berth in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Magliarditi, who was named Second Team All-ECHL, set Florida team records for wins, shutouts (5) and goals against average (2.27) in 1998-99, and the following season set the team record for save percentage with .923 while going 22-9-0 as the Everblades set an ECHL record with 108 points (53-15-2). In addition to Florida, Magliarditi has played in the ECHL with Columbus (Ohio), Louisiana and Richmond.

Selected in the fifth round (117th overall) by Los Angeles in the 1993 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Saal began his ECHL career in 1995-96 going 5-3-0 with South Carolina. He has won 20 games in each of the last three seasons going 27-11-0 with Louisiana in 2000-01, 25-15-10 with Arkansas in 2001-02 and 20-10-7 with Arkansas in 2002-03.

Greensboro's Daniel Berthiaume ranks second with 189 career wins in 337 games. Berthiaume has started all 16 games for the Generals and is 11-4-0 with a 3.15 goals against average and a .902 save percentage. The oldest player in the ECHL at 37 years old, Berthiaume leads the league with 11 wins, 932 minutes and 449 saves. Berthiaume holds the ECHL record for longest winning streak by a goaltender, winning 13 consecutive games in 1994-95 with Roanoke, and he ranks second in career games (337) and career minutes (19,199).
