Colorado Eagles News Release
ANCHORAGE, Ala. -The Colorado Eagles (39-20-0-3) couldn't muster enough offense, falling to the Alaska Aces (28-23-3-4), 2-1, on Friday night at Sullivan Arena.
After a scoreless first period, Alaska defenseman Landon Oslanski fired a bomb from the blue line, sneaking its way past Eagles goaltender Aaron Crandall to give the Aces their first lead of the game, 1-0, 2:26 into the second period. One minute and six seconds later, Aces forward Brenden Connolly put the Aces up 2-0 on a one-timer from linemate Chris Francis, beating an outstretched Crandall.
Colorado wouldn't go down without a fight, however. With 1:21 remaining in the game and Crandall on the bench for the extra attacker, forward Trent Daavettila pounded home a rebound, pulling the score to 2-1. That is as close as the Eagles would get, as they fell in Alaska in the second of a three game road series.
Crandall still stopped 25 of 27 shots on the night, taking his first loss in an Eagles uniform. Colorado and Alaska face each other in the rubber match on Saturday night.
Tickets to all Colorado Eagles home games are on sale and start at just $16 per seat. Contact the Eagles ticket office at 970-686-SHOT (7468) or visit www.ComcastTix.com to reserve your seats today and be part of the action!
