EVANSVILLE, Ind.- Despite a season high 56 shots, the Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light were served a helping of humble pie on Pi Day at the Ford Center. The Orlando Solar Bears rode five 1st period goals to a 10-3 win in front of 5,870 fans at the Ford Center.
Jordan Sims scored his first ECHL goal in the loss for the IceMen. Jarret Lukin and Robin Sudek both finished the night with two assists. However, Orlando's Garret Sparks made a team record 53 saves to help the Solar Bears get the win.
Orlando took the lead just 45 seconds into the game as Eric Baier made it 1-0 Solar Bears with his sixth goal of the season. Johnny McInnis, Peter Sivak, Scott Tanski, and Denver Manderson all added first period goals to give the Solar Bears a 5-0 lead after one.
