Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - Adam Brace scored twice as the Everblades won their seventh straight game with a 4-2 win over the Greenville Road Warriors Saturday night in front of an announced crowd of 6,808 at Germain Arena.
The Everblades grabbed the lead at 2:11 of the first period when Mitch Wahl delivered a pass across the ice to Adam Brace who one-timed the puck behind Greenville goaltender Jason Missiaen.
Brace made it a 2-0 at the halfway through the second, on a quick passing play. Whitney centered a pass in the slot to Wahl who immediately tapped it across to Brace on the right wing side. Brace hurled the puck into the open net for the tally.
Two minutes later, Greenville's Vinny Saponari stuffed the puck underneath the leg pad of Florida netminder Daniel Altshuller at the shortside post to put the Road Warriors on the board 2-1.
Florida reclaimed a two-goal advantage when newcomer Ray Kaunisto threw the puck toward the net. The puck was stopped by Missiaen, but the rebound bounced in front and off the body of Gabriel Desjardins and then into the net for the Everblades goal.
Greenville refused to go away, and pulled within one at 11:49 of the third. Devon Krogh delivered a shot a on goal that was initially stopped by Altshuller. However, the rebound bounced directly to Thomas Frazee who flexed the puck into the net for the goal to put the score at 3-2.
The Everblades held off the Road Warriors for the remainder of the contest, and Alex Lavoie added an empty net goal to seal the 4-2 victory for the Everblades.
Altshuller earns the win stopping 28 of 30 shots, while Missiaen allowed three goals on 24 shots.
