Game Preview
Tonight will be the fourth of five meetings this season between the Kalamazoo Wings and Reading Royals. On the season, Kalamazoo is 1-1-0-1 against Reading. After this evening, the teams will meet once more tomorrow afternoon at the Santander Arena.
Kalamazoo began a three-game road swing last night with a 4-1 loss to the Wheeling Nailers. With 61 points, the K-Wings are in third place in the North Division, two points ahead of the Wheeling Nailers and three points ahead of the Cincinnati Cyclones and Indy Fuel.
Losing 5-4 in a shootout to the Elmira Jackals last night, Reading returns to the Santander Arena for two straight games where they are 19-9-0-2 this season. With 81 points, the Royals are in second place in the East Division, three points behind the Florida Everblades.

Kennedy to Make K-Wings Debut
Completing a trade on Wednesday with the Evansville IceMen for the ECHL rights of forward Patrick Kennedy, the K-Wings will finally get to see their acquisition in action. Kennedy, who was reassigned to Kalamazoo this afternoon from the Utica Comets, will make his Kalamazoo debut.
Nearing the Century Mark
Defenseman Kane Lafranchise is closing in a personal milestone. Lafranchise needs one assist to reach 100 in his career.
Good Things Come in Threes
Two members of the K-Wings begin tonight on point streaks. Forwards Matt Caria and Gergo Nagy each have earned points in three straight games.
Out in Front
Reading has been nearly unbeatable when they score the game's first goal. The Royals are 25-4-0-2 (83.9%) when they earn the first goal of the game.
Staying Out of the Box
The Royals are the second least penalized team in the ECHL. Reading enters tonight averaging 11.71 minutes in penalties per game.
Home Sweet Home
On the season, the Royals are 19-9-0-2 at the Santander Arena. The 19 home victories ties Reading with the Fort Wayne Komets for second most in the Eastern Conference behind the Florida Everblades (21).
