
Desjardins, Hamilton Shutout Phantoms 4-0

GLENS FALLS, NY - Cedrick Desjardins stopped all 26 shots he faced for his AHL-leading fifth shutout as the Hamilton Bulldogs blanked the Adirondack Phantoms 4-0 Friday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
Greg Stewart scored on the first shot of the game, sliding the puck through the legs of John Grahame 48 seconds into the first period. Adirondack out-shot Hamilton 14-8 in the frame, but conceded again in the final minute. Brock Trotter scored a shorthanded goal at 19:47, taking a nice pass from David Desharnais and pushing the puck into the open goal on a two-on-one rush.
After a scoreless second period, the Phantoms pushed to tie the game, but could not solve Desjardins in goal. Desharnais made it 3-1 at 14:09 for his tenth goal of the year and 21 seconds later Ben Maxwell's centering pass hit the skate of a Phantoms' defensemen and went into the net at 14:30.
Cedrick Desjardin made 26 saves for his fifth shutout and his ninth win of the season as Hamilton improved to 17-7-2-3 on the year. John Grahame finished with 19 saves on 23 shots in his Phantoms debut, but the team dropped to 12-13-2-0. Adirondack out-shot the Bulldogs 26-23 in the game and went 0-for-7 on the power play; Hamilton was 0-for-5 with the man-advantage.
Adirondack hits the road for a Saturday, December 19th 7:05 pm face off against the Worcester Sharks at the DCU Center. The Phantoms next home game is a Time Warner Cable Cup Series against the Albany River Rats on Thursday, December 31st at 3:00 pm in Glens Falls.
