P-Bruins Fall To Sound Tigers 3-1

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 3-1 Friday evening at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The P-Bruins got their lone goal from Zach Hamill. The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for a Family Game against the Lowell Devils.

The P-Bruins took a 1-0 advantage at the 7:04 mark of the opening period, while on the power play. Jamie Arniel worked the puck through the neutral zone and passed it to Matt Marquardt down the left wing. He fed Hamill in front of the net, who tallied his fourth goal of the season. The P-Bruins went into the first intermission leading 1-0.

The Sound Tigers tied the game at one at the 1:07 mark of the second period, while shorthanded. Tyler Haskins netted his third goal of the season, with Greg Mauldin and Jon Gleed recording the assists. The game went into the second intermission tied at one.

Bridgeport took its first lead of the game at the 1:29 mark of the third period, while on the power play. Jeremy Reich scored his first goal of the season, with Mark Flood and Greg Moore, picking up the assists. The Sound Tigers finished off the scoring with an empty net goal at the 19:46 mark. Matt Martin scored his seventh goal of the season, while Sean Bentivoglio grabbed the lone assist. Bridgeport went on to the 3-1 victory.

Dany Sabourin stopped 31 of 33 shots for the P-Bruins, while Scott Munroe made 41 saves for the Sound Tigers. The P-Bruins were 1-for-4 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.

Providence heads on the road Saturday to the MassMutual Center to face the Springfield Falcons at 7:00 p.m. The P-Bruins wrap up the weekend Sunday at The Dunk against the Lowell Devils at 4:05 p.m. for a Family Game.
