CYCLONES HAT NIGHT

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: Tonight the Cyclones will open a critical four-game swing through the Atlantic Division beginning in at First Arena in Elmira, New York. While Cincinnati has strung together points in an ECHL-high six consecutive tilt, they're looking to snap a three-game losing skid as the Eastern Conference race heats up. The Clones and Jackals have split the season series right down the middle to this point, with both clubs earning a pair of wins.

SCOUTING THE JACKALS: Dwight Mullins' club is going to need some help if they are to avoid elimination down the stretch. Having lost to Reading on Wednesday night, they currently sit 11 points out of the eighth and final playoff spot with just 14 games to play. Forward Mike Vaskivuo has soared offensively since coming over from Fort Wayne earlier this year. He's notched 49 points (17 goals, 32 assists) in 51 games this season overall in addition to his team-second best +5 plus/minus rating. Jordan Pietrus has also been toward the top of the Jackals scoring list; he's posted 39 tallies (10 goals, 29 assists) in 58 tilts this year. Neil Conway has led the way in net for Elmira this season, going 8-3-1-2 this year with a 2.24 goals-against average. Scott Greenham has also seen quite a bit of action in 2013-14, amassing an 8-14-1-2 record with a 3.13 GAA.

LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING: JANUARY 16, 2014: Anthony Luciani scored twice in a back-and-forth affair, but the Cyclones were unable to rally and fell to the Jackals by a 5-4 margin in front of 1,184 at U.S. Bank Arena. Five different Jackals lit the lamp in the contest and netminder Maxime Clermont, who stopped 25 of the 29 shots he faced in the tilt, played well enough to snap the team's three-game losing streak.

First Time for Everything: Last Saturday, the Cyclones accomplished something they never have before. With a 41 shot performance, they've now eclipsed the 40 shot plateau in three consecutive games.

Unfriendly Guests: The Clones have remained one of the best road teams in the ECHL. Their 19-7-0-2 record away from U.S. Bank Arena has garnered the second-most road points of any team in the league (40). They lead the ECHL in road offense as well, notching 106 goals.
