Stockton Thunder News Release
The Thunder partnered with DBI Beverage, Inc. and MillerCoors to introduce the franchise's first team branded beer, Rough & Ready Irish Red, available in Stockton Arena for fans to enjoy responsibly.
The Stockton Thunder, in conjunction with partner DBI Beverage, Inc. and MillerCoors, are proud to introduce the franchise's first team branded beer.
Craft brewed by MillerCoors," Rough & Ready Irish Red" is distinguished by a rich amber color, a full bodied flavor with hints of roasted and toasted caramel malt, and is a perfect complement to watching Thunder hockey for those adults age 21-years and older.
"In Czech we have a saying, "ËNejlep'Ã- pivo je Thunder pivo. Na zdravÃ-,'" says the 21-year-old Thunder defenseman and Czech Republic native Michal Spacek . "There's no beer like Thunder beer. Cheers!"
Beginning Friday, March 14th, Rough & Ready Irish Red will be available at select locations throughout Stockton Arena, with plans to extend availability to establishments within the Central Valley.
"The Thunder are fortunate to have visionary partners like DBI Beverage and MillerCoors that provided us the opportunity to create this exceptional product and extension of our brand" said Team President Brian Sandy . "Hopefully it's the first of many Stockton Thunder beverages to come."
The team partnered with prominent Pacific Northwest graphic designer Brent Walden to create the distinctive logo, which depicts a red-haired Thor hoisting a glass of Rough & Ready Irish Red in lieu of his traditional hockey stick. The logo also pays homage to the beer's Stockton heritage as a "Premium 209 Brew."
"Greg and I have worked together on numerous team-branded beverage logos in the past, and they just keep getting better and better!" said Sandy. You can check out more of Greg's work here .
Starting today, Rough & Ready Irish Red will be available in Stockton Arena at the Silver Bullet Bar, the Draft Cart on the Chase Chevrolet Concourse and the Commodore Port of Call Club on the Fan Deck. Merchandise will be available for purchase in the Stockton Thunder team store, the Fan Attic and online soon at StocktonFanAttic.com .
As always, the Stockton Thunder, DBI Beverage Inc. and MillerCoors encourage fans to drink responsibly, use designated drivers and never drive drunk. With great beer comes great responsibility. We want fans to enjoy the game, get home safely and remember the occasion for all the right reasons.
