Louisville Bats News Release
IN-DIANAPOLIS - Oneil Cruz doubled, homered and drove in four runs and Roansy Contreras tossed 4.0 scoreless innings to lead the Indianapolis Indians to an 8-2 win over the Louisville Bats Saturday night at Victory Field.
Cruz plated two early with a double into right field that brought home Jason Delay and Ji-hwan Bae and made it 3-0 in the second inning.
Two frames later, Cruz unloaded on a solo shot to center in the spacious Victory Field that capped a two-run fourth and made it 5-0 in favor of the Tribe.
With Cruz dialed in at the plate, Contreras spun 4.0 shutout innings with just one hit, two walks and six strikeouts. He gave way to the bullpen in the fifth, which surrendered two runs over the final stretch of the contest.
Trey Amburgey homered for the Bats in the seventh and Cristian Santana doubled home a run in the top of the eighth.
The two teams also resumed their tied contest from Thursday's suspended game. Michael De Leon doubled in two runs in the top of the 10th to seal a 7-5 victory for the Bats.
The two teams will cap their series Sunday at 1:35 p.m. at Victory Field. RHP Graham Ashcraft (1-1, 1.99) toes the slab against RHP Miguel Yajure (NR).
