
Knights Drop Saturday's Game to Stripers 6-1

(LAWRENCEVILLE, GA) - The Charlotte Knights dropped game five of the six-game series against the Gwinnett Stripers by a score of 6-1 on Saturday night from Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, GA. With the win, the Stripers took a 3-2 lead in the series. The two teams will play the finale of the series on Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
A night after pounding out 12 runs on Friday night, the Knights managed just one run on Saturday evening against the Stripers. Right fielder Micker Adolfo drove home the team's lone run on an RBI single in the top of the fourth inning.
Second baseman Yolbert Sánchez and first baseman Seby Zavala chipped in with two hits apiece in the loss. Sánchez has now hit safely in 10 of his 11 games at the Triple-A level since his promotion from Double-A Birmingham on April 26.
LHP John Parke (1-3, 7.20) started the game for the Knights and was charged with the loss. Parke gave up six runs on nine hits over 3.2 innings pitched. He gave up three home runs on the evening to Gwinnett - Ryan Casteel, Hernán Pérez and Pat Valaika all went yard.
Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoán Moncada continued his major league rehab assignment on Saturday but did not register a hit in four at-bats.
Gwinnett LHP Kyle Muller (2-1, 3.16) earned the win for the Stripers. He allowed just one run on seven hits over six innings of work.
