Coyotes Recall Brown and Murphy from Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled forward Chris Brown and defenseman Connor Murphy from the Portland Pirates, the club's American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 22-year-old Brown has played in four games with the Coyotes this season, recording 17 penalty minutes (PIM). He has also collected 4-8-12 with 31 PIM and a plus-nine rating in 15 games with the Pirates. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound native of Flower Mound, Texas ranked second on the team in points and tied for first in assists at the time of his recall.

Brown was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the second round (36th overall) in the 2009 Entry Draft.

The 20-year-old Murphy skated in 22:32 and scored his first career goal in his NHL debut vs. Tampa Bay on Nov. 16. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound native of Dublin, Ohio has also registered five assists with nine PIM in 12 games with the Pirates this season.

Murphy was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (20th overall) in the 2011 Entry Draft.
