It's Been Awhile
While they have played each other in the regular season, it has been awhile since the K-Wings traveled to the Germain Arena. Tonight marks the first time since the 2011-12 season that Kalamazoo has played a game at the Germain Arena.
Bouncing Back
Last night the K-Wings were shutout for the third time this season and for the 11th time in their ECHL history. Kalamazoo is 5-3-0-2 in the next game following a shutout loss.
Moving on Up
Defenseman Sam Ftorek is close to moving up the K-Wings all-time list of assist leaders. Ftorek needs one more assist (187) to pass Kevin Evans (1985-91) for 8th place all-time in team history.
Snapping a Streak
The K-Wings enter tonight trying to snap a four-game road winless (0-2-1-1) streak. The four-game road streak is the longest this season for the K-Wings.
Family Reunion
On Wednesday, the Everblades acquired defenseman Steve Kaunisto from the Rapid City Rush. Kaunisto is the cousin of K-Wings forward Ray Kaunisto.
Lighting the Lamp
Florida hasn't had much trouble this season in scoring goals. The Everblades rank second in the Eastern Conference and third overall in the league with an average of 3.78 goals scored per game.
Percentage Points
They might not have the most points in the Eastern Conference, but the Florida Everblades do possess one of the best winning percentages. In fact, the Everblades hold the ECHL's top winning percentage at 0.733.
Home Sweet Home
Tonight is the second game of a season-long nine-game home stand for Florida. The Everblades, who own the league's top home record at 15-2-0-3, are riding a four-game home winning streak.
