TONIGHT:

The Ontario Reign (28-14-3-4) play their first of two games in as many nights against the Alaska Aces (21-19-3-1). The defending Kelly Cup champs have faced a trying season, as the team experienced a significant turnover in its roster during the offseason. Alaska currently sits outside of a playoff spot; the club has come on strong in the past few weeks, posting a 6-3-1-0 record over its last 10 games. Ontario, meanwhile, leads the season series against Alaska with a 3-0-0 record.

THE OMAHA CONNECTION:

Reign forward Matt White will likely see a familiar face in Alaska's lineup tonight, as Greg Wolfe was a teammate of White's in the 2009-10 season with the USHL's Omaha Lancers. With his goal on Wednesday night, White has seen his point streak extended to a season-high six games (5g-3a).

TOP HEAVY OFFENSE FOR ACES:

Although Alaska's Brendan Connolly is fourth league scoring respectively, the offense on the Aces' active roster dries up after him. Only two players on the active roster have more than 10 goals (Connolly - 19; Chris Francis - 14), while Ontario has six players on its active roster with more than 10.

SHORTHANDED GOLD:

The Reign penalty kill was tested frequently on Wednesday, but for the second straight contest, Ontario managed to pick up a shorthanded goal, courtesy of Maxim Kitsyn's shot from beyond his own blueline for the team's fifth shorthanded tally of the season.

KING RACKING UP HELPERS:

Tristan King's point streak continues with one goal and five assists over his past five games. His five assists during this streak ties a season-high for him in helpers over any five-game span.
