ROYALS PRE-GAME NOTES

- Tonight, the Royals take on the Wheeling Nailers for the tenth of what will be twelve total matchups between the two teams over the course of the regular season.

- So far, the home team has won every game in the series between the Royals and the Nailers with Reading capturing all five games that have been played at Santander Arena and Wheeling winning the four games that have been played here at WesBanco Arena.

- Reading is currently riding a team record twelve game winning streak (12-0-0-0). On Wednesday, the Royals snapped the previous team record of eleven straight wins (established from November 2 through November 23, 2012) with a 5-0 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones.

- The Royals current twelve game win streak is the longest in the ECHL this year (and the longest in the league since the 2009-10 season).

- Reading's twelve game win streak is tied for the seventh longest consecutive stretch of wins by one team in the 27-year history of the ECHL. The Royals are just the fifteenth team in league history to record a winning streak of 12 games (or more).

- The Royals win streak is the longest winning streak in the ECHL since the 2009-10 season when the South Carolina Stingrays won 13 straight games (November 24 - December 19, 2009) and the Victoria Salmon Kings went twelve games without a loss (December 10, 2009 - January 3, 2010). (The longest win streak in ECHL history was set at seventeen games by the 2007-08 Cincinnati Cyclones, January 13 - February 29, 2008).

- Reading has outscored the opposition 51-24 during the twelve game win streak (4.25 goals for per game to 2.00 goals against per game).

- Wednesday's 5-0 win at US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio, over the Cincinnati Cyclones was the thirty- third win of the year for Reading, which is tied (with the Allen Americans) for the most wins in the ECHL to this point in the season.

- Wednesday's win in Cincinnati pushed Reading's record to a team season-high twenty games over .500 (33-13-1-1=68).

- Reading is currently riding a season-long seven game road winning streak, which ties the longest road winning streak in the ECHL this year. (The Toledo Walleye won seven straight on the road from December 14, 2014 - January 16, 2015).

- The Royals recorded the team's seventeenth road victory (17-5-0-1) on Wednesday in Cincinnati, tying the Fort Wayne Komets (17-7-0-1) for the most road victories in the ECHL to this point in the year.

- Reading's victory over Cincinnati pushed the team's record against teams from the North Division to 19- 7-0-0 with twelve more games to play against the teams from the North, including tonight's game against the Nailers.

- Reading has scored the game's first goal in nine of the twelve games during the current win streak. Overall, the Royals have scored first twenty-eight times and have gone 23-4-0-1 in those games.

- Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Cyclones marked the second shutout of the year for Reading. The Royals blanked the South Carolina Stingrays (2-0) on December 7, 2014.

- Reading is 13-0-0-0 when holding the opposition to one goal or less and 21-0-0-0 when holding the opponent to two goals or less.

- Sean Wiles (1g-1a), who has ten goals in his last eighteen games, scored the first goal of the game in Cincinnati on Wednesday (marking his second 'fg' of the year), which also proved to be his third game winning goal of the season. Wiles has played plus-fifteen (+15) in his last twenty-eight games for the Royals.

- Defenseman Jordan Heywood, whose goal on Wednesday gave Reading a 2-0 lead over the Cyclones early in the second period, has two goals in his last three games.

- David Marshall, who notched the Royals' third goal late in the second period in Cincinnati, has scored a goal in five of his last six games with Reading. Marshall registered his tenth multi-point performance of the season (1g-1a) on Wednesday in Cincinnati. He has eighteen points (8g-10a) in his last sixteen games.

- Adam Hughesman, who scored the Royals' fourth goal on Wednesday, has fifteen points (7g-8a) in his last sixteen games.

- On Wednesday, Pat Mullane recorded his eighteen goal of the year, which ties Cam Reid for the team lead. He also notched his team-leading sixteenth multi-point performance of the year (1g-1a) against the Cyclones. Mullane leads the Royals with forty-nine points (18g-31a) in forty-eight games.

- Olivier Labelle has sixteen points (7g-9a) in his last twelve games. On Wednesday, his assist (on Adam Hughesman's goal, was his 172nd point (88g-84a) in his 204th game with the team. Labelle is seven points behind Yannick Tifu (66g-113a=179pts), who is the second all-time leading scorer for the Royals.

- Ryan Cruthers has 259 points (81g-178a) in 258 career game with the Royals. Cruthers registered his fifth multi-point game of the year on Wednesday (0g-2a) and played plus-three (+3) in that contest.

- Goaltender Connor Knapp, who stopped all twenty-two shots he faced on Wednesday, extended his personal win streak to eight straight with the Royals with his first shutout for the team. That was his second shutout in his 79th regular season pro hockey game. Knapp has won twelve of his last fourteen games for Reading.

- On Wednesday, Reading's penalty kill blanked the opposition's power play for the ninth time in this twelve game win streak. The PK has killed 47 of the last 50 power play chances they have faced over the past thirteen games (94.0% kill ratio).

- The PK has blanked the opposition a total of thirty times this season and the team has compiled a record of 24-4-1-1 in those games.
