PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - Riley Heidt scored two for the Prince George Cougars en route to a 3-1 win at CN Centre Saturday night.

Austin Roest opened the scoring for the Silvertips at 7:07 in the first period, beating netminder Ty Young with a low wrist shot for his 22nd goal of the season. Prince George evened the score at 6:10 in the second period, with Heidt sneaking a shot from a sharp angle past Tyler Palmer.

Caden Brown gave the Cougars the lead at 16:48, converting an odd-man rush with Carter MacAdams for a 2-1 Prince George lead. Though the Tips mustered 13 shots in the third period, they could not solve Young, with Heidt tacking on an empty-netter to complete the win.

Young made 26 saves in the win for Prince George. Tyler Palmer stopped 28 of 30 in the loss.

The Silvertips are back in action in Spokane Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Live coverage is available on KRKO Radio. Tickets are available for the Silvertips' homestand on Jan. 13 and 14. Friday night is Rally Towel Giveaway night, with Saturday night being the Great Paper Airplane Toss with over $5,000 available in prizes.
