LAST GAME 3-2 W @ Edmonton Oil Kings: The Medicine Hat Tigers opened the 2023 portion of the 2022-23 WHL Season with their third consecutive victory in their season series with the defending WHL Champions, but it wasn't easy. Despite trailing twice including a 2-1 deficit heading into the third period at Rogers Place, Brayden Boehm was able to tie it early in the third, with Pasha Bocharov re-directing the eventual game winner at 17:08 while Evan May made 29 saves for his 1st ever Western Hockey League win.

VS SWIFT CURRENT: It's the 2nd of 8 meetings this season between the Broncos & Tigers. The 1st encounter went in favour of the Broncos on New Year's Eve by a 4-3 overtime winner from Josh Filmon who had a pair of goals in the loss for the Tigers.

Despite falling to the Broncos, the Tigers showed some resiliency in the 3rd period after going down 2-0 after 40 at the iPlex as Brayden Boehm, Brenden Lee and Owen MacNeil would all tally to help insure at least a single point in what has already been deemed a pivotal series in regards to the potential post season for both clubs.

Latvian Leap: Second year defenceman Bogdans Hodass will represent Team Lativa at the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championships in Halifax, Nova Scotia for the second straight year. In 24 GP this season, Hodass has 4 goals and 11 assists for 15 points. At this summer's World Juniors in Edmonton, Hodass had 1 goal and 1 assist in 5 games making it to the Quarter Finals.

Mr. 400: Tigers Head Coach & Willie Desjardins notched his 400th win as a Head Coach with the Medicine Hat Tigers December 10th in a 6-3 win at home against the Moose Jaw Warriors. Desjardins record in his 13 seasons coaching in the WHL. Desjardins first win as Tigers Head Coach was a 4-3 win on September 24, 2002 against the Saskatoon Blades.

Silver Lining: Tigers forward Tomas Mrsic returns to the Tigers after taking home a silver medal at the World U17s in Langley, BC. Mrsic had one goal and one assists for Team Canada Red. Cayden Lindstrom also participated in the U17s as a member of Team White scoring two goals and two assists in the tournament.

MacNeil's Navy: The Tigers announced their leadership group for the 2022-23 WHL Season, Owen MacNeil was named the 39th Captain in Tigers history, while Rhett Parsons, Dru Krebs, Tyler MacKenzie & Dallon Melin will all wear alternate captain's A's on their jerseys this season.
