Cederholm Named ECHL's 'Plus' Performer of the Month

KALAMAZOO, MI- Kalamazoo Wings defenseman Anton Cederholm has been named the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for the month of February, the ECHL announced Thursday. Cederholm led all players in the ECHL with a plus-minus rating of +13 in 12 games during the month.

Cederholm posted an even or better rating in 11 of 12 games during the month and was a +2 in five games.

The 21-year-old leads the K-Wings with a +12 rating this season and has posted 14 points (two goals, 12 assists) in 51 games.

Selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the fifth round (145th overall) of the 2013 NHL?Entry Draft, the rookie blueliner spent the previous two seasons with Portland of the Western?Hockey League where he tallied 35 points (13goals, 22assists) in 139 games.

Both Ludwig Blomstrand and Joel Martin were also honored for their terrific Februarys, as they were runners up for Player of the Month and Goalie of the Month, respectively. Blomstrand chipped in 15 points (eight goals, seven assists) in 12 February games, and had five multi-point performances. Martin posted a February record of 8-2-0-0, and won his last six decisions of the month.

In recognition of his accomplishment, AMI?Graphics will present Cederholm with a personalized Plus Performer of the Month banner during an on-ice ceremony at an upcoming K-Wings' home game.

The Kalamazoo Wings will host a "We Are Kalamazoo" game on Saturday, March 5, as they aim to raise proceeds for the Help Now! Fund, a collaborative effort between the Battle Creek Community Foundation, Kalamazoo Community Foundation, and the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region. The Wings will donate $2 from every ticket sold to the game in addition to a silent auction with memorabilia, goods, and services from local organizations and sports teams. All proceeds from the auction will also be donated to the fund.

Single-game tickets are now on sale! Tickets can be purchased at kwings.com or at the Wings Event Center box office. Box office hours are Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. A $2 discount is applied on all tickets purchased before the date of the game. Any student that shows a valid ID can get tickets for just $10.
