'Cakes Shutdown in Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS - Kyle Tucker drilled the first pitch of the fifth inning for a solo home run and the Round Rock Express shutout New Orleans 2-0 to even the series.

Corbin Martin earned the win working five innings and allowed six hits. Cionel Perez delivered three scoreless innings out of the bullpen and Reymin Guduan pitched the ninth for his first save.

Hector Noesi took the defeat for the 'Cakes. He pitched seven innings allowed one run on two hits and a season high twelve strikeouts.

The Express added a run in the eighth inning with a two out single from Myles Straw.

The 'Cakes offense had three consecutive games of scoring 10, 9, and 11 runs but were shutout for the first time this season on Thursday.

Harold Ramirez and Yadiel Rivera each had two hits for New Orleans.

New Orleans (11-9) will drop into second place one game back of Round Rock.

GAME NOTES- Austin Dean ten game hit streak came to an end with no hits in three at bats. Noesi's 12 strike-outs was the most for the 'Cakes this season, Zac Gallen punched out 11 on April 5th against Round Rock.
