
Burger Promoted to White Sox Tuesday

The Charlotte Knights announced four roster moves ahead of Tuesday's opener against the Durham Bulls from Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, NC.
INF Jake Burger was recalled by the Chicago White Sox today. He has appeared in 21 games with Chicago this season and is hitting .239 (17-for-71) with six runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and seven RBIs. In 13 games with the Knights this year, Burger hit .213 (10-for-47) with 11 runs scored, three home runs and eight RBIs.
LHP Yoan Aybar was promoted to the Charlotte Knights from Double-A Birmingham today. Aybar, a member of the White Sox 40-man roster, posted a 0-1 record with an 8.10 ERA in 10 appearances with Double-A Birmingham this season. The Dominican native had 15 strikeouts over 10.0 innings pitched. The 24-year-old was claimed off waivers by the Chicago White Sox from the New York Yankees on March 24, 2022.
RHP Tanner Banks was optioned to the Knights from Chicago on May 22 after the White Sox game against the New York Yankees. Banks, 30, posted a 0-0 mark with a 3.00 ERA with the Chicago White Sox this season in 11 games (18.0 IP). Banks, 3-, made his major-league debut on April 10, 2022 with the White Sox. He spent the entire 2021 season with the Charlotte Knights and posted a 3-3 record with a 4.53 ERA in 25 games (five starts) over 59.2 innings pitched.
Additionally, RHP Ryan Burr was placed on the COVID-19 related IL before the game.
