
Bulls Erupt for 17 Runs, Even Series at One

DURHAM, NC - The Durham Bulls (26-24) evened the six-game series with the Nashville Sounds (33-17) at one game apiece with a 17-4 rout on Wednesday night.
Nashville scored first in the second as Mariano Feliciano connected on an RBI double. Durham would get on the board as LF Miles Mastrobuoni went yard on a solo shot, and 3B Jonathan Aranda would follow his lead and connect on a solo shot of his own on the next at bat for the 2-1 lead. Nashville would respond in the next inning with Feliciano driving in his second run with an RBI single to tie the game.
The Bulls would then get red-hot and score six runs in the sixth. 2B Xavier Edwards got things started with an RBI single and SS Tristan Gray followed with a ground out RBI. RF Jordan Qsar added his name to the RBI list, tattooing a double for the 6-2 lead, and DH Josh Lowe capped off the inning with a two-run single.
The Bulls bats stayed hot in the seventh, as the team set a new season-high by scoring eight runs in the frame. Gray would do more damage by going yard on a three-run shot, while 1B Luke Raley connected on a grand slam in the massive scoring spurt. Qsar went yard on a solo shot of his own one inning later to cap the Bulls' scoring.
In addition to setting a season-high with their eight-run seventh inning, the Bulls set a season-high with 17 runs scored. Qsar led all batters with three hits and three runs scored, with Gray and Raley each drove in a team-best four runs.
Durham pitcher Dusten Knight earned the win after throwing two innings, allowing one hit and ringing up two strikeouts. Nashville pitcher Nick Bennett picked up the loss.
The Bulls and Sounds will be back in action for game three on Thursday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm as RHP Easton McGee (2-3, 5.79) is scheduled to start for Durham and RHP Josh Lindblom (1-2, 2.89) is expected to start for Nashville.
