Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
Papillion, Neb. - The Omaha Storm Chasers (25-24) fell in the second game of a six-game series to the Indianapolis Indians (25-24) 13-3.
Indianapolis got on the board first in the second game of the six-game series, putting up a solo home run to take an early 1-0 lead in the second.
Omaha answered with a solo shot of their own in the fourth off the bat of LF Nick Pratto to knot the score at 1-1.
LHP Marcelo Martinez (Loss, 1-4) had a one-hitter through four innings but the Indians put up five runs in the top of the fifth. The Storm Chasers cut into the deficit in the bottom of the inning as SS Iván Castillo started the rally with a one-out single before moving to third on a CF John Rave double. Both Castillo and Rave would score on a two-bagger from 2B Clay Dungan, but through five, Indianapolis led 6-3.
Indianapolis put up one run in the sixth, one in the seventh, and fine in the eighth to take the 13-3 win.
Omaha continues their homestand with Indianapolis on Thursday with Dollar Beer Night. Select Pepsi and Budweiser products are just a buck. First pitch for game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the Sarpy County Tourism Pregame Show on 1180 The Zone.
