Bulldogs burned by Flames 2-1 OT

Moline, Illinois - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated by the Quad City Flames 2-1 in overtime on Friday night. Sergei Kostitsyn had the lone goal for Hamilton increasing his point streak to nine games.

The Bulldogs opened the game's scoring at 10:39 of the first period. Kyle Chipchura sent a backhand pass to Kostitsyn, who skated behind the net. Kostitsyn wrapped around the net before flipping the puck past Quad City starting goaltender Leland Irving.

The Flames tied the score 1-1 with 59 seconds remaining in the game with a power-play goal. Carsen Germyn rifled a shot from the right circle that bounced off the goal post. Kris Chucko grabbed the puck before banging a shot past Hamilton starting goaltender Marc Denis.

Quad City notched the game-winner in overtime. Kris Chucko fired a shot on net that was saved by Denis. Anders Eriksson grabbed the loose puck before using a forehand-to-backhand move and sending the puck past Denis to win the game for the Flames.

The Bulldogs continue their five-game road trip on tomorrow for an 8:00 p.m. EST. game against the Chicago Wolves.
