Kevin Nastiuk Recalled From Loan

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 17th season in the American Hockey League, announced that goaltender Kevin Nastiuk has been recalled from the ECHL's Alaska Aces. With the move, the P-Bruins have 26 players on their roster, including 15 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders.

Nastiuk, 23, returns to Providence, where he has gone 0-1-0 with a 4.18 goals-against-average in three outings over two previous AHL stints. The goalie was loaned to Alaska on February 20 and he went on to compile a 5-1-0 record with one shutout and a 2.33 GAA in six games. Along with 17 games for the Gwinnett Gladiators this season, Nastiuk has an overall 11-9-3 ECHL mark with a 2.79 GAA in 23 contests.

The Edmonton, Alberta, native went 6-5-2 with a 2.44 GAA last season for the ECHL's Florida Everblades while adding a 4-1-0 mark and 2.31 GAA for the Albany River Rats of the AHL. In his AHL career, Nastiuk is 5-9-3 in 19 games for Providence, Albany and the Lowell Lock Monsters. Meanwhile, the net-minder has posted a 47-26-13 career ECHL record between Alaska, Gwinnett, Florida and the Las Vegas Wranglers.

Prior to turning pro, Nastiuk played four seasons for the Western Hockey League's Medicine Hat Tigers, winning 40 games in 2003-04 en route to a WHL championship and an appearance in the Memorial Cup.

Nastiuk was selected 126th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in round four of the 2003 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
