Prince George Cougars News Release
Prince George BC - The Prince George Cougars are excited to announce that defenceman Tyson Buczkowski (06) and goaltender Madden Mulawka (06) have been selected to represent Team Canada at the upcoming Under-17 Hockey Challenge, which runs from November 3rd-12th in Langley and Delta, BC. Buczkowski will be playing for Team Canada Black, while Mulawka will suit up for Team Canada White.
Buczkowski, 16, was the 15th overall selection by the Cougars in the 2021 WHL Prospect's Draft. The 5'11" defender from Saskatoon, SK has played four games this season for the Cougars, and has registered six shots in those contests.
Mulawka, 16, was the 100th overall selection by Prince George also in the 2021 WHL Prospect's draft. The net-minder from Edmonton, AB played in two regular season games this season, and sported a 1-1 record. Mulawka also had two starts between the pipes during the pre-season, where he collected a pair of victories.
The Cougars would like to congratulate both Tyson and Madden on this accomplishment and wish them the best of luck in the lower mainland in November.
The Cougars return to action this weekend, beginning on Friday against the Vancouver Giants at the Langley Events Centre (7:30 PM start) and then wrap up the trip on Saturday night against the Kamloops Blazers at the Sandman Centre (7:00 PM start). You can catch both games on 94.3 The Goat and WHL Live.
