Doyle, Marques, Aasman Named to World Under-17 Hockey Challenge

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Tuesday that 2006-born players Tristen Doyle and Miguel Marques along with assistant coach Ryan Aasman will represent Canada at the 2022 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
Doyle, 16, was selected 17th overall by the Hurricanes in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft. The Bonnyville, AB, product has skated in nine regular season games with the 'Canes going pointless with six penalty minutes. He has appeared in 13 career games scoring one goal. The 5'9, 171-pound defenceman collected 42 points (10g-32a) along with 39 penalty minutes in 33 games in 2021-2022 with the Northern Alberta Xtreme U18 Prep team. Doyle will suit up for Canada White at the tournament.
Marques, 16, was the 10th overall pick by the Hurricanes in the 2021 WHL Draft. The Prince George, BC, product has appeared in nine games with one goal this season for Lethbridge going pointless with two penalty minutes. He suited up in 19 games last season as an affiliate with the 'Canes totaling seven points (3g-4a) and four penalty minutes. The 5'11, 170-pound forward racked up 116 points (42g-74a) along with 54 penalty minutes in 31 games last year with the Delta Hockey Academy U17 Prep team. Marques will also represent Canada White.
Aasman, 30, is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Hurricanes. The Medicine Hat, AB, product has spent time previously as the head coach of the Calgary Northstars U18 AAA team and the interim head coach of the Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. He appeared in 166 regular season games over four years during his WHL playing career with the Prince Albert Raiders, Seattle Thunderbirds, Swift Current Broncos, Medicine Hat Tigers and Edmonton Oil Kings. Aasman will serve as the Video Coach for Canada Red.
The 2022 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge will take place in Langley, BC, from November 3rd until November 12th.
The Hurricanes return to action on Wednesday when they welcome the Saskatoon Blades at the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm.
