Eric Healey scored the game-winning goal with 2:34 left in the third as the Providence Bruins beat the Admirals 3-1.

Following a scoreless first period, Norfolk jumped out to the lead early in the second stanza. After Bruins backstop Tim Thomas stopped his initial shot, Colin Fraser collected the rebound and skated from the near face-off circle to the far post. Fraser wristed the puck past Thomas top shelf 44 seconds into the middle frame to give the Admirals a 1-0 lead. Providence tied the game at 1-1 12:34 into the period. Nathan Robinson passed the puck to Ben Walter who one-timed it past Admirals netminder Adam Munro. Norfolk out-shot Providence 26-20 through two periods, and the game was deadlocked at 1-1 at the second break.

Despite not firing a puck on net until 10:33 of the third period, Providence took the lead on a four-on-four goal. Healey one-timed a Tyler Redenbach pass into a nearly empty net at 17:26. Redenbach then iced the game for the Bruins with an empty-netter with 48 seconds left.

Tim Thomas picked up the win for Providence stopping 39 of 40 shots. Adam Munro was saddled with the loss while turning aside 23 of 25 shots.

Norfolk was 0-7 on the power play while Providence was 1-7.
