HAMILTON, ON - Michael Lambert and Corey Locke scored two goals apiece for the Hamilton Bulldogs, who handed the Barons a 5-1 loss at Copps Coliseum on Friday night. The defeat snapped a three-game winning streak for the Barons.

The Barons weathered the early storm from the Bulldogs who out-shot Cleveland in the opening period, 9-4. Dimitri Patzold, making his first appearance since an October 22nd win at Hamilton, handled all nine shots from the Bulldogs for a scoreless first period. Hamilton goaltender, Yann Danis, made his second appearance of the season and made all four saves required in the opening twenty minutes of action.

Hamilton, boasting the fifth best power play in the AHL, scored the game's opening goal with a second period tally while on the man-advantage. Andrei Kostitsyn deflected a Ron Hainsey slap shot from the blue line for the 1-0 lead. The Bulldogs then extended their lead to 2-0 with an even-strength goal in the last three minutes of the second period. Corey Locke scored the goal just as the Barons returned to full-strength.

Any thoughts of a third period comeback were snuffed out by the Bulldogs, who scored a short-handed goal from Michael Lambert at the 8:16 mark in the third period. The Barons answered with a power play goal from Tim Conboy, but it was too little-too late as the Barons lost by a final of 5-1. Hamilton's final two goals, from Locke and Lambert, were scored with a man-advantage as the Bulldogs finished the night 3-for-10 on the power play.

The Barons return to home ice for back-to-back weekend games at National City Rink at The Q. Tomorrow night at 7 O'clock the Manitoba Moose pay their first visit to the Rock N' Roll City. Then on Sunday evening at 5 O'clock the Rochester Americans make their second appearance in Cleveland. For Sunday's game fans can take advantage of the Barons Family Fun Pack, which is four tickets-four hot dogs-and four sodas for just $40. Tickets for all regular season games are on sale now and group discounted tickets are available by calling the Barons at 216-420-0000.
