Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI-The Milwaukee Admirals scored six unanswered goals after falling behind 3-0 and took a 6-3 win over the Iowa Stars in American Hockey League action Friday night at the Bradley Center. The win was the Admirals six straight victory after starting the season with four consecutive losses.
After shutting the same Stars team out on Tuesday night Admiral goalie Brian Finley got off to a rocky start, allowing three Iowa goals in the first 11:22 of the game. Admiral defenseman T.J. Reynolds helped to stop the Iowa momentum when he won a decisive decision in a fight with the Stars' Zack Stortini just five seconds after the third Iowa goal.
Shea Weber got the Admirals on the board when he posted a power play goal at the 15:02 mark of the first period on assists from Libor Pivko and Darren Haydar. Newly recalled forward Preston Mizzi pulled the Ads within a goal just 3:11 later when he took a loose puck off a rebound and crammed it past Iowa goaltender Mike Smith.
Haydar's first goal of the season evened the score at the 2:25 mark of the second period, and the two teams went into the locker room tied at three after two periods. Timofei Shishkanov notched the game winner with a power play tally just 2:21 into the third stanza with Kevin Klein and Vern Fiddler assisting on the play. Haydar and Pivko added third period goals to give the Admirals the 6-3 win.
Haydar finished the night with three points (2g-1a) and has now scored seven points in his last three games. Admiral backstop Pekka Rinne stopped all 15 shots he faced to run his record to 5-3-1 on the season.
